That angle might cause an optical illusion. The turbo was actually quite moderate in size. The ridiculously high boost pressure with toluene rich racing fuels were the main reasons
how it was able achieve ~1400 hp maximum power.

Well, all you need is a BMW 4 cylinder of 2.0 liters, a machine shop that regularly does work for NASA, and I probably have a turbo about that size laying around.
